Forum -> appliances -> Electrical driers - information and repairs My Amana clothes dryer needs a new belt and I want to replace it myself.
by: Chuck on: Monday, May 3 2010 at 12:18:28 CDT I have taken the two clips off the back of the machine. I cannot figure out how to release the front end of the top I see that there are two more clips but can't access them. I need to replace the drive belt. Thanks for you help. by: Val on: Monday, May 3 2010 at 19:47:26 CDT Make sure unit is unplugged. Remove the two screws holding the bottom front panel on, and remove panel. Remove the two screws on bottom of upper front panel, lift panel from bottom and pull towards you and up. Disconnect wires for door switch (make diagram of where wires go ) and place panel to the side. Now remove the four screws that hold bulkhead on, and lift bulkhead up and off. Remove the two screws that hold the main top down, and lift main top up. Let the top rest against something so it does not fall back. You can now get the belt replaced.
